This long weekend was so necessary. Getting back into the work grind after two weeks in Charleston for the holidays was grueling. But Tuesday’s my birthday (25!!) so Trey and I went to brunch at Blackbird in Chicago, which we’ve been wanting to try for awhile. Aaaand it was subpar, to be honest. But tomorrow we’re heading to dinner at Momotaro and I’m thinking it’ll be delicious. I’ve been once before and it didn’t disappoint.

But before our Blackbird reservation, we took a few photos with my new Canon and 50mm lens that Trey got me for Christmas (best gift ever!). What a difference a DSLR makes! It’s so much easier to get that dreamy, blurred background. Can’t wait to play around more with it when it’s not below 10 degrees.

As for the outfit choice, it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with turtlenecks. I love when they’re tight to the neck, so no cowl necks here. The boots are possibly one of the smartest purchases I’ve ever made. I scored them for $60 at the Saks outlet while at home. They are seriously the most comfortable slip-ons and they go with everything. I love the Western flair they have going on.

Anywho, please pray for me in this godforsaken weather. I’m cold. SL
